Driving modes that help fleets save. On-Highway DT12 models come standard with Economy Mode, upshifting quickly to maximize fuel economy and get to speed. Performance and manual modes are also available for demanding driving conditions.
Smarter lubrication and temperature control. The transmission's innovative oil system with Adaptive Thermal Management brings the DT12 up to temperature quickly to deliver smooth shifting and peak performance, even in cold conditions.
Gearing optimized for real-world routes. The DT12-HE gearset is designed for starting with heavy loads in low gears, and running at highway speeds in top gears, for the best in fuel efficiency and performance.
Proven reliability mile after mile. Intelligent Powertrain Management (IPM) uses detailed mapping technology to predict terrain, curves, intersections, and speed limits on the road ahead. The DT12 will optimize shifting, coasting, and acceleration to traverse the road ahead as efficiently and safely as possible.
An automated manual transmission (AMT) offers the benefits of both a manual and automatic transmission. Its design uses an efficient clutch instead of a torque converter, but the clutch and shifting are handled by a computer-controlled air system.
